1. The two-pipeline architecture
Six7 Alpha runs two daily pipelines on the same underlying market data. The data is identical — quotes, indicators, breadth, regime context. What changes is the timeframe each pipeline is built around, and therefore the type of setup it looks for.
Trade Like is the short-term lane: legendary swing-trader playbooks that fire when a clean entry/stop/target structure shows up in the daily tape. Holds range from a few days to a few weeks.
Invest Like is the long-term lane: positions that public investors are actually holding, filtered down to the ones whose chart is technically setting up today. Holds range from months to years.
Same engine. Different question. Trade Like asks "what should I trade this week?" Invest Like asks "what should I own this year?"
2. Trade Like — playbooks and regime gating
Each morning, the platform runs seven active playbooks against the current tape:
- Stan Weinstein — Stage 2 breakouts from multi-month bases on heavy volume.
- Qullamaggie — episodic-pivot momentum continuations after a tight consolidation.
- VCP Master — Mark Minervini's Volatility Contraction Pattern with shrinking-range pivots.
- Wyckoff — accumulation and spring setups in established trading ranges.
- Darvas — clean box-breakout entries above prior all-time or 52-week ceilings.
- Master Reversal — high-conviction trend reversals at confirmed exhaustion points.
- Seasoned Swing — Trader's market-read playbook for multi-week swing entries.
Regime gating. Not every playbook fires every day. The Trade Like engine classifies the current market regime (trend, breadth, volatility) and only green-lights the playbooks suited to it. In a high-VIX chop tape, breakout playbooks sit out; reversal and base-building playbooks get more weight. The regime read is shown at the top of /trade-like so you always know which lane is open.
For each ticker that fires, you get a fully-built plan: entry trigger, hard stop, first target, and the playbook that nominated it. No guesswork on risk.
3. Invest Like — public investor sources and technical filter
Invest Like starts where most platforms stop: with what real public investors are actually buying. Sources include 13F filings, public pick lists, validated investor watchlists, and curated holdings from credible long-horizon allocators.
A raw list of "what funds bought last quarter" is interesting but not actionable — most of those names are already extended, in drawdown, or stuck in chop. The Invest Like pipeline adds a second step: a technical-setup filter. Every candidate is checked against the same indicator stack the platform uses for swing trades — trend structure, support reclaim, volume confirmation, momentum alignment.
Names that are technically setting up today surface as active positions. Names that are still in their long-term thesis but not setting up sit in the watchlist until their chart turns. The result: conviction-weighted positions with less noise, longer holds, and a clear "act now vs wait" status on every ticker.
4. When to use which
The two pipelines are not competing — they answer different questions. Use this table to figure out which one matches the way you actually trade or invest:
| Aspect | Trade Like | Invest Like |
|---|---|---|
| Timeframe | Days to weeks | Months to years |
| Signal frequency | Daily, regime-gated | Selective, only when chart confirms |
| Hold length | ~3–20 trading days | Months to multi-year |
| Conviction model | Playbook + regime fit | Public investor backing + technical setup |
| Risk per trade | Tight stops, defined R | Wider stops, position-sized for hold |
| Screen time | Daily check-ins around the close | Weekly review is enough |
If you are an active trader who can watch the tape and manage stops, Trade Like is your lane. If you are a busy professional who wants to own things for a year without checking quotes hourly, Invest Like is your lane. Both is also a perfectly reasonable answer.
5. Both: the daily-email-only path
You do not need an account to benefit from either pipeline. Six7 Alpha sends two free daily digests — one for Trade Like, one for Invest Like — every morning before the open. Subscribe to one, the other, or both.
The emails contain the same playbook fires, regime read, and active positions you see on the dashboard. No login, no app, no dashboard required — just open the email, see the day's setups, decide if anything fits.
For most users this is the lowest-friction entry point. Start with the digests, watch the cadence and quality for a few weeks, and open the dashboard later if you want to dig into individual setups.
